The second generation Hyundai Creta is reportedly launching on March 17. The car was unveiled earlier this month at the Autoexpo 2020 with much fanfare. Car's looks can be subjective and we would be deep into personal opinions if we start discussing them. Creta will compete against the like of Kia Seltos, Jeep Compass, MG Hector, Tata Harrier etc.

At the unveiling, the exteriors were revealed, however the company was tight-lipped about the car's interiors, so details remain speculative in that regard. According to speculation, the car is now likely to offer a 10-inch touch screen system, tilt and telescopic steering, electrically adjustable seats, and the interiors trims and design are expected to be completely revamped. Creta may go the Kia route and may offer as many power plants (1.4 litre turbo petrol / 1.5 litre diesel / 1.5 litre petrol) and transmission options ( 6MT and 7 DCT / 6MT and 6AT / 6MT and IVT) as the sister company. All engine options will be BS IV compliant as dictated by the new emission norms.

The exterior features a cascading grille, flanked by three-piece LED DRLs which resemble boomerang and a headlight cluster that's set in the bumper. The side still reminds of the old car, however it's likely to feature new 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. At the rear, a highly contoured tailgate is embellished by LED taillights. Other updates include faux rear and front skid plates which are larger and more prominent now. The car is expected to be priced at around Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base variant.
