Design and Exteriors

S-Presso is one of the smallest car from Maruti Suzuki stable. S-Presso, is infact also among the top small cars that you can buy in India. While manufacturers have been claiming some of their entry-level cars as ultra-compact SUVs. And the S-Presso is one of them. We'd like to disagree, personally, some of these cars appear to be a sort of a hatchback that's been inflated. Anyway, they are what they are.

Maruti Suzuki S-Presso

The S-Presso has a more upright stance than a normal hatch even though it sits on a comparatively similar wheelbase length, it is basically accomplished with the use of a steep A and C pillars. The front bumper is two-tone and accommodates DRLs. There's just the right amount of chrome on the grille that give the car some zing, and in the middle sits the Suzuki logo. The range of colours on offer include Solid Sizzle Orange, Pearl Starry Blue, Solid White, Metallic Granite Grey, Metallic Silky Silver and Solid Fire Red.

Maruti S-Presso (Wheel arch and taillight cluster)

The creases on the front fenders and above the rear wheel impart some character to the overall styling. The rear looks somewhat plain in comparison though, however, the taillight cluster is large and seems well-proportioned. As you would expect, from a car of this class, the headlights and taillights aren't LED but rather halogen. The Maruti Suzuki S-Presso measures 3565 mm in length, so it is well short of four meter mark and has a wheelbase of 2380 mm. S-Presso stands 1564 mm tall. Std. and LXi variants are marginally shorter at 1549 mm. Track width at the front is 1316 mm and at the back, it measures at 1318 mm.

Engine and Transmission

It's powered by the acclaimed 1.0 litre K-series petrol engine that develops about 67 bhp of peak power at 5500 rpm. And 90 Nm of maximum torque, comes at a low 3500 rpm. The engine is indeed modest, but coupled with a car that weighs between 726 kg-767 kg it is perhaps the right pick, that makes the car sprightly as well as fuel-efficient.
