Design and Exteriors

Cars have come and gone, but WagonR remains and is still one of the best selling cars in India. Originally launched to counter Hyundai Santro, which was one of the first car that popularised tall-boy design in India. WagonR has undergone many changes in its lifetime, however it has managed to retained the characteristic features that defined the segment decades ago. The fascia comprises of a large headlight units and a grille that profusely uses chrome elements and in the centre sits the Suzuki logo. WagonR makes use of two-tone bumpers and has large windscreens and glass area that provide great visibility all around to the driver. On the rear, large, sculpted, vertical taillights are characteristic of the design and provide good illumination. On the sides, the car gets ORVM integrated turn signal indicators.
WagonR in Magma Grey

WagonR is 3655mm long and stands 1675mm tall. The wheelbase measures at 2435mm and is 1620mm at its broadest point. Track width of the car is same at the front and rear and measures 1440mm. The car is available in six colours - Magma Grey, Silky Silver, Solid White, Poolside Blue, Nutmeg Brown and Autumn Orange.

Engine and Transmission

Maruti Suzuki WagonR offers two engine choices - 1-litre petrol and 1.2-litre petrol engine. The 1.0-litre units is the same as the one that powers the Alto K10, while 1.2-litre unit is a four cylinder unit and is the unit that powers Swift, Dzire and Ignis. The 1-litre unit puts out 67.1bhp of power at 5500rpm and 90Nm of torque at 3500rpm in case of petrol. There's option of CNG too with this unit, and it puts out 58.3bhp and 78Nm of torque if that's chosen as the fuel option. The 1.2-litre engine puts out a healthy 81.8bhp of power at 6000rpm, while torque tops at 113Nm at 4200rpm. The larger engine is not available with CNG option.

There are two transmission options on offer, a five speed automatic AMT unit and a five speed manual, both of these are available with the 1.0-litre as well as the 1.2-litre unit. Petrol tank can accommodate 32 litres of fuel, while CNG tank has a 60 litre capacity.

Interior and Features

WagonR offers dual-tone interiors and a SmartPlay infotainment system. The ORVMs are internally adjustable as well as foldable. The rear seat offers a 60:40 split while boot can store 341 litres of luggage. Other notable features include tilt steering, rear defogger, rear wiper and washer, speed sensitive auto door lock, steering mounted audio and voice controls, Some of the features however may be available with the top variant only.

You also get a host of safety, security and other features as standard, such as driver airbag, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, central locking, child proof rear door locks, speed alert system, gear shift indicator, keyless entry, central locking etc.

Wheels and Brakes

WagonR offers 155/80 R13 wheel with all models that come equipped with 1-litre engine except VXi with 1-litre engine. All others that excluding above i.e ones with 1.2-litre engine offers 165/70 R14.  All variants get ventilated disk brakes at front and drum brakes at rear.
