Kia Seltos has started the year with a bang. The car recorded it highest sales numbers ever, with the sale of 1500 units in January. The car was launched with much fanfare and aplomb and was destined for success, considering the work that has been done in preparation of the launch. The advertisements were aired ad nauseam to create brand / product awareness. Nonetheless, it has worked. Other upcoming brands like Citroen should perhaps draw inspiration and take a note.
Sales began in August 2019 and Seltos recorded a modest figure of 6236 units. Moving to an even higher number in the following month with 7754 units. The trend continued even further till November when the sales reached a peak of 14005 units. A downward trend was expected in December and the car sold only 4645 units. It was assumed that Seltos had peaked sales in the November and is likely to make a return in January around that figure. However, it is evident that the car is well-liked and has much going for it. So, if we do a total, the car has managed to sell well over 60,000 units in just a matter of six months.

The car is well priced and has a lot to offer in terms of features, looks, presence. For the month of January, Hyundai Creta recorded sale of 6,900 units, while Vitara Brezza managed to sell 10,134 units. Tata Harrier too recorded an upward swing in sales with 719 units in January (compared to 422 units sold in December).
