Hyundai revealed the second generation Creta at the AutoExpo today, for the Indian audience. The design looks radical by all means as far as the exteriors are concerned. The interiors have not been revealed yet by Hyundai. However, it's likely to come with revamped interiors as well as a BS VI compliant engine when it's launched in March.
Hyundai Creta - Second generation

The car was first revealed in China last year as ix25 and evoked wide-ranging opinions then. The car features most radical face that we have seen recently. The main headlight unit is surrounded with big LED DRL elements at the top and on one of the side. At the centre is the cascading grille similar to the ones we see on other Hyundai cars now, the shape may be similar but the wide-apart slats are immediately noticeable are different than the ones were shown originally on the concept ix25. The bumper is two-tone and can be seen having dash of silver/chrome elements at the bottom.

At the sides, the wheel arches now get added muscle and creases. In between the wheels, the profile still reminds of the old Creta. You will also notice the dual-tone paint around the C-pillar that the car carries to accentuate design elements. The 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels are an all-new design. The LED tail-lamps are just as radical as it can get and may divide opinion. Creta is larger than the car it would replace, and has a marginally longer wheelbase too. According to Hyundai the car will comes with large touchscreen, digital dials, panoramic sunroof and the proprietary BlueLink connectivity, electronic parking brake. You would also likely to get features like ventilated seats at the front and wireless charging.

The car is likely to share engine and gearbox with Kia Seltos i.e. 1.5-litre petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel motor. The petrol would offer a 6-speed manual and a CVT automatic gearbox. While diesel will come with 6-speed manual and a torque converter automatic gearbox. Hyundai may go also offer the 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine that develops 140bhp and comes with 6-speed manual and 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox options.

Creta is at present one of the best selling car in its segment and competes with the likes of Tata Harrier, Kia Seltos, Nissan Kicks, Vitara Brezza etc.
