It's raining electric vehicles. After TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak, Tata NexonEV and others, it's the eKUV100. Mahindra has just launched the car at the Auto Expo. The car was first shown as concept at the Auto Expo 2018. The all-electric Mahindra eKUV100 is priced at a starting price of Rs 8.25 lakh (ex-showroom). It's the most affordable electric car that you can buy in India at present. While the price includes FAME II subsidy, depending on the state you are living in the price may vary.

Mahindra eKUV
The Mahindra eKUV100 uses a 40kW (54.4hp) electric motor which powers the the front wheels. The peak torque is rated at 120Nm Like we have seen in other electric vehicles, it employs a liquid-cooled battery, which is of 15kW capacity. The claimed range is 150km. Mahindra says that it can be charged fully in 5hr 45min with a regular charger, or you can charge it within 55min with a fast charger.

Since there's no IC engine, the car features a closed front grille to perhaps help the aerodynamics and the fuel door. The lid to connect the charging plug is provided on the front fender. Since there's no need for fuel, the fuel lid has been eliminated. The headlamps and taillights of the car have been reworked In many other respects the car remains similar to the Mahindra KUV100.
