Car and two-wheeler sales in India are generally high around Diwali. And sales number also increase marginally in the month of January-February, since many customers who do not make a purchase around Diwali try and make a purchase in the new calendar year. So, we tend to see spikes in these months and a marginal sales rise is observed. This time around too, the similar trend has been observed.

Car sales statistics

The sales figures for the January 2020 are higher, with cumulative dispatch of cars at 262226 units. If we compare that to the month of December 2019, the number stood at 234805. So, the upward trend is expected to continue since manufacturers have started rolling out BS-VI cars too (lack of which was largely considered by many as a sales-dampener).
